The heart of the playground.

I spent a huge amount of my youth in the Snoqualmie Valley, and now that Im a parent I can confirm that the playgrounds now a days are so much more fun! Especially the Snoqualmie all Inclusive playground at Centennial Fields. This park is close to one of my favorite photoshoot locations, I have been eagerly waiting for this project to get wrapped up, and when I heard they finished it I packed up my littles to check it out!

Let me tell you, this playground is a game-changer. It’s not your average collection of swings and slides (although it has those too, don’t worry!). This is a space specifically designed to be inclusive and accessible for children of all abilities. We’re talking ramps galore, sensory play elements, and equipment that allows for all kinds of climbing, spinning, and exploring. Basically, it’s a park paradise for every kiddo, including ones in wheelchairs!

Now, I know what you might be thinking: “Inclusive playgrounds? Sounds great, but are they actually fun?” Let me assure you, the answer is a resounding YES! This playground is seriously well-designed, striking the perfect balance between inclusivity and, well, just plain old playground fun.

Let’s Dive into the Details: What Makes the Snoqualmie All-Inclusive Playground So Awesome

Here’s a breakdown of some of the coolest features that make this Snoqualmie all inclusive playground a must-visit:

  • Accessibility for All: This playground is all about removing barriers and creating a space where every child can play and have fun. There are wide ramps that lead to all the different play structures, allowing for easy access for wheelchairs, walkers, and anything else a child might need to get around. There’s even a specially designed merry-go-round as well as a swing that allows for easy entry on wheelchairs.
  • Sensory Play Explosion: Talk about a feast for the senses! There are panels with different textures to touch, chimes that make beautiful sounds, and so many areas with different objects to touch/spin. . These elements are fantastic for engaging children with sensory processing needs, but honestly, all the kids will love them!
  • Climbing Fun for Everyone: Forget the days of watching longingly as some kids scale the monkey bars while others stand below. This playground has a variety of climbing structures that cater to different abilities. There are ramps that lead to platforms, ropes courses designed for various levels of difficulty, and even a giant spider web climber that’s perfect for testing those balance skills.
  • Swings and Slides Galore: Okay, okay, I know I said there was more than just swings and slides, but let’s be honest, they’re kind of a playground staple, right? And this playground delivers! There are traditional swings, an adaptive swing for wheelchairs, and even a super fun basket swing that the whole family can enjoy. There are also slides of all shapes and sizes, from gentle toddler slides to more thrilling options for the bigger adventurers, not to mention the widest slide Ive ever seen that (Im guessing) is to allow a for a helper to slide along too!
  • Space to Run and Explore: Playground equipment is fantastic, but sometimes kids just need some wide-open space to burn off energy. The Snoqualmie all-inclusive playground has plenty of that too! There’s a large grassy area perfect for running, playing tag, or having a picnic lunch with the most epic backdrop in the valley, Mount Si!
  • Littles area: And let’s not forget that sometimes younger kids get overwhelmed by the older kid chaos. This park has that covered too! There is a separate play area just for the 2 and under crowd to enjoy.

More Than Just a Playground: A Place for Community

One of the things I love most about this playground is the sense of community it fosters. It’s a place where children of all abilities can play side-by-side, make new friends, and learn from each other. It’s a space where parents can relax and socialize while knowing their kids are having a safe and inclusive play experience.

Beyond the Playground: Exploring Centennial Fields

The playground might be the star of the show, but Centennial Fields has a whole lot more to offer! There are walking trails, perfect for a nature stroll. There are picnic shelters and barbecue pits, ideal for a family gathering. And of course there are baseball and football fields too. Basically, Centennial Fields is a one-stop shop for a fun-filled day out.
